About me

Me and my floofball husky! (Pixel)

Pleased to meet you! My name is Alex Vieira and I'm a Portuguese biology student, palaeontology enthusiast, and palaeoartist based in Cardiff, Wales. I volunteer as a writer, editor and illustrator for Wikipedia's Dinosaur and Palaeontology WikiProjects. ANational Museum CardiffI am an Amgueddfa Cymru Producer and Youth Forum member working on science communication projects about natural historyMy current research interests revolve around spinosaurid dinosaurs and palaeontology in Wales.

On the PaleoGeek blog I discuss biology, palaeontology and dinosaur-related topics, including fossil discoveries and research, natural heritage, and palaeo-media such as tv shows, movies, etc. My passion lies in science communication; I want to help make learning and knowledge open to everyone, and this blog will function as a way to chip in towards that goal, whilst also giving me a platform to talk about the things I love and am fascinated by (e.g., dinosaurs!). Thanks for dropping by! Enjoy your stay, and hopefully you get to learn something new about the wonderfully complex and awe-inspiring world of the past!
